The Bousquet Memorial Run has proven to be a great end of the summer test for BOHS. We had favorable weather on Friday evening allowing for some great performances on both teams. It's no surprise that the top performances and improvements came from those who made an effort to attend practice over the summer. On the boys side it was notable that the top 7 BOHS athletes placed in the top 9, all running sub-16.
On the ladies side we had a team time that was 2:30 seconds faster than last year and 4:12 faster than 2012. In 2014 our top three were faster than our #1 from '13 and our 10th runner in '14 was only 1 second behind our #7 from '13. Every girl that ran the Bousquet Run in '13 ran faster this year with the biggest improvement coming from Jazelle Gonzales. She ran a lifetime best by exactly 3 minutes, 24:54-21:54, and ran a whopping 4:51 faster than last year. For those of you who don't know, Jazelle came to me at the end of last XC season saying that she wanted to make the varsity team. At the time her PR was the aforementioned 24:54, far from the varsity squad. Nearly a year later, a few thousand miles and a ton of dedication she has made a huge leap toward that goal. Keep up the great work! Full results Girls Race Sheet 8/26/2014 05:19:12 am
