Finishing off the last meet of their season, the frosh/soph team came out victorious! The Brea frosh/soph team scored second overall which in comparison, completely showed the capabilities and the strengths of the Boy’s Frosh/Soph team. From the very beginning of their training, a majority of the frosh/soph members from our team focused towards achieving great success and put in all the effort towards training for cross country. The returning sophmores understood the amount of work that had to be put in to improve their previous times. Since the sophomores understood this, many sophomores this season stepped up their game for the greatness of the team. Overall the dedication that came out of these sophomores and the dedication that was shown by these sophomores during their final race proved to be outstanding. The newly introduced freshmen also proved to be a tight pack of talented runners. Our freshmen completely stuck close to each other during this race and because of this strategy, a majority of these freshmen learned how to become skilled and strong during tough races. Overall the amount of effort expressed from the frosh/soph athletes proved to be impactful towards their final race and these individuals will continue their impressive speed during track next season!

The Varsity Boys team at Crestview League Finals proved to be an efficient pack today as they successful brought their team towards achieving third place at league and ultimately caused a majority of their own teammates to achieve great prs. Shane Gaffikin, competing against the intense Logan Underwood, broke that sub 15 barrier once again achieving a time of 14:55 and placing second for the team overall. Also not to far behind, the out of nowhere and talented/fasted Daedler in the family Ryan Daedler peaked with an amazing 15:05 and placed 4th for the team, We are highly expecting Ryan to sub 15 next year! Jack Hannum, Jonathan Manara, Matthew Apahidean, Manny Debarros, and Carlos Perez also proved to be a tight pack helping the team to qualify for CIF Prelims and score points for our placement. Our team proved to be perfectly skilled at Crestview and all of our varsity teams will have absolutely no competition on our hands once we race at CIF Preview.

The JV team asserted absolute dominance in the race as the top 3 Brea runners finished 1,2, and 3. From mile 1 on, Andrew Velasco and Jordan Ostby took off leaving the rest of the race in the dust. They finished 1st and 2nd with times of 16:16 and 16:18. Aakash Kadakia, not too far behind, finished 3rd with a time of 16:39. John Root scored 4th for the team and finished within the top 20 achieving a course best of 17:32. Logan Rios rounded off the team score with a time of 19:17, showing that training with pants, vans, and jackets definitely paid off. The final pack of the JV boys was Chris Furumizo and Angel Fuerte who pushed to the end and finished their season strong. Miguel Andrade came back after a brutal injury and decided to run his last race of the season. He ended up pushing through the pain to finish with a time of 20:09. The JV team overall finished 2nd in the league.
