Brea-Olinda looks forward to seeing juniors Austin Tamagno and Kylee Grubbs compete at CIF Finals on Saturday afternoon at Cerritos College. Tamagno looks defend his CIF title and improve his school record of 4:04.59. Tamagno is currently ranked #1 in California at this distance and he has chosen to drop all other events to focus on the 1600. In addition to Tamagno, Brea will field its first female distance runner at CIF Finals since 2008. Grubbs enters CIF Finals ranked 6th in DIII with a time of 2:17.29. After Grubbs finishes the 800 she will be joined by Ali Schade, Kyra Greenwood and Emily Carman as alternates in the 4x400. The girls 4x400 was the 10th qualifier in the event and in the case of a team scratching these very capable ladies will toe the line.
We ask all supporters of our program to come to finals to witness our well accomplished athletes take aim at the school records in their respective events. Athletes, remember that you need to drive to and from the meet with your parents. Please arrive in the parking lot of Cerritos College 2 hours before your race. Good luck and GO WILDCATS!!
