On Saturday, November 21st the boys' and girls' cross country teams will compete at CIF Championships held at Mt. SAC. The boys are the defending CIF and State champions, currently ranked #1 in California for Division 3 and are looking for a three-pete. If successful this would be the 4th CIF title over the past 6 years for the Brea boys' cross country team. Our defending individual CIF and State Champion, Austin Tamagno who is also ranked #2 in the U.S., will look to add one last CIF title as he starts his bid for the National title later this season.
The girls' team will make their third consecutive appearance at CIF Finals. The past two years the ladies finished 12th in a field of 16 teams. During preseason, our team's goal was to make it to the State meet for the first time since 2006 by finishing in the top 7 at Finals. After a season of hard work and determination, the girls' team is entering CIF Finals ranked #4 in CIF-SS for Division 3 and #8 for California. With a "on day" our ladies can take an honest shot at finishing in the top 3 at Finals. This is by far the best over-all program Brea has ever had. We would love to see you cheering on our athletes at Mt. SAC this weekend. The girls race at 7:45 a.m and the boys race are at 8:25 a.m. Your support means a lot to our athletes and the BOHS Cross Country Program. Here is a map of the course. We will run the 3 mile course which is the first map listed. The team will set up camp next to the "Gauntlet" which is about 70m before the finish line. If you plan on attending and would like to purchase a team shirt for $12 please let me know via email. The bus will leave BOSH at 5:50 a.m. and return 11:00 a.m. Here are a few pictures from Joe Tobin from when we were in Oregon. Comments are closed.
