Hello to all,
Summer is over and the 2015 XC season is upon us. We will open our season with the addition of a new meet, the Cool Breeze Invite held at El Prado Golf Course. Who races? Everyone races unless they are injured. If your name isn’t on the meet entries please let Coach Rainwater know ASAP. Transportation to the meet: The buses will leave BOHS at 3:30 p.m on Saturday 9/5 (please arrive by 3:15) and depart for home around 10:15 p.m. Transportation home: You can take your athlete home but two buses will be there to transport kids after the end of the last race. Remember that you can only transport your athlete even another parent says that it's fine for you to do so. Attendance: All athletes are expected to come race or support their team if they are not racing . Meet attendance does count as part of your grade. Bring your uniform, food, water, money, warm clothing any other items you may need. Race Schedule, we are racing in the Seeded races on the Varsity level. Roster with levels that we'll be racing READ THIS TOO: Saturday will be the qualifying race for our trip to Oregon. On the boys side we will not be racing 3 of our top 9 at Cool Breeze, two of whom will also not join us in Oregon. One male athlete is not racing at Cool Breeze but will be going to Oregon. So, if you are a boy you need to have one of the top 8 times on Saturday from any race to earn an invite to Oregon; the ninth spot will go to the above mentioned athlete. For the ladies it's much more clear cut. The top 9 athletes from Cool Breeze will be invited to Oregon. On both teams we have athletes that have been improving greatly and can definitely earn their way onto the Oregon team. On the boys side I see the last two spots being wide open with a ton of guys that can fill the spot. Remember that you're racing the clock. Lastly, I reserve the right to invite the athletes that I feel should go to Oregon. My intent is to bring the top 9 from both teams but if one of our top athletes is sick and can't race or takes a spill during the Cool Breeze Invite I'll take that into consideration but be transparent at the same time.
