With the Track and Field season approaching I would like to take care of a few things.
The first being, signing up for XCstats.com and using the training log function. Training Logs are an essential tool for both the athletes and coaches. It gives the coaches a way to see how everyone is doing on any given day and it helps the athletes track their progress. Practice can be hectic and we dont always have time to talk to each athlete individualy about how he or she felt on the run or during a workout. Secondly, I will be posting the location of our Saturday runs on the website. There should be no excuse for not attending Saturday practice. It is extremely important to be at practice every day. As coaches we want to see all athletes become the best that they can be. Attending Saturday practices is a critical part of the journey.
And finally, I would encourage that anyone who has been feeling overly fatigued to consider getting bloodwork done. Getting a CBC and Ferritin checked could show us what is going on. Iron deficiency in endurance athletes is common and prevelant in female athletes.
