Mt. SAC here we come!

Brea-Olinda will make its return to the fabled Mt. SAC Invitational on Friday 10/24 with the absence of one key runner. This year marks the 67th year that Mt. SAC hosted what is now the largest cross country invite in the world. With the size of the meet comes a huge amount of planning and this year they figured that they've gotten too big. The meet organizers have implemented restrictions on entries which results in not all of our athletes being able to compete this weekend. Also a new addition to the meet are the cutoff times. Athletes who are unable to clear the the safety gate located around 1.5 miles will be pulled off of the course. 

Please look over schedule of races and roster for this meet here (boys info will be added soon, keep checking back). The athletes who are running the the Junior Varsity races at 10:39 and 10:49, not to be confused with the JV National Championships later in the day, will meet in front of the gym for a 8:00 a.m. departure. We expect to leave Mt. SAC at 12:10 p.m. and return to BOHS at 12:50 p.m. The remainder of the team will be released from class at 12:45 for a 1:00 p.m. departure. If athletes who ran in the morning wish to return to Mt. SAC to support their team they can head right back on the bus but we want to be respectful of your time and give you a lift back to school.

The key runner who will not be racing with our team on Friday is Junior Austin Tamagno who will be competing in the Boy's Individual Sweepstakes race on Saturday morning at 8:45 a.m. As a runner it's always great to have your team come support you, especially when you're running solo. With that said the coaching staff will be at Mt. SAC to support his efforts. The girls will have a rare Saturday without a mandatory practice. However, I'm sure a team that is hoping to make the State Meet will show up to support their team mate and then be ready to knockout an 8 mile run as soon as he finishes. Last year Tamagno set the sophomore class record lets see what he can do this year.
